Route - Teide I

We start the journey from your accommodation (usually Las Americas) and drive to the Teide volcano on the southern slope through the mountain serpentine.

On the way we drive through the highest city in Spain -  Vilaflor, It is located 1400 m above sea level. Leaving the city, we stop at the largest pine tree in the Canary Islands - Pino Gordo, its height is 42 m, diameter 3 m, and circumference 9 m.

We enter the Teide National Park. At this time of the day (in the morning) there are still few tourists, and we can feel like we are on the moon or on Mars - 2300m above sea level.  Let's look at natural stone wonders - rocks "God's finger", "Organ", etc.

If you have pre-purchased a cable car ticket for a specific time, you will rise to an altitude of 3700 m above sea level.  You can also buy a cable car ticket on the spot, however, in this case you need to stand in line (depending on the time and season).  It is about 150 m to the summit, but to climb up you need a free permit, which must be obtained 3-4 months in advance.  But even without climbing the peak itself, there is something to see.  If there are no clouds - the whole island in front of us, and you can see the neighboring islands - Gran Canaria, La Gomera, La Palma and Hiero.

option b) from the volcano, go north to El Portillo and turn right - through a forest with majestic Canarian pines to a grove of eucalyptus trees. Here we take a short walk. Further down the mountains through Tabaiba Alta to the southern motorway.  Let's go home.
